The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 2003 with an intake of 60 students and the department has been recognized as R&D Centre by Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgavi, for carrying out Research activities. The department has well experienced and dedicated faculty members with many active researchers who are involved in R & D projects. There are totally 14 faculty with an average teaching experience of 10 years, out of which 9 with Ph.D and remaining with M.Tech qualification. The department organized several Workshop, Seminars, Guest Lectures, Student Development Programmes (SDP) and Faculty Development Programme (FDP) periodically. The main focus of our curriculum is to impart technical knowledge and by using Innovative Teaching Learning methodologies. We motivate our students to do innovative projects and find a solution to the problems in the real world. Our Undergraduate students are encouraged to undertake various Technical projects and internships in leading core/IT Industries. The alumni of the department are well placed in many of the reputed industries/organization throughout the world. Apart from this, graduated students are getting admitted for post-graduation to many reputed universities across the world. Our students are placed in good companies like Infosys, WIPRO, TCS, Accenture, Tech Mahindra and IBM.
Dr.Hanumanthe Gowda obtained his Ph.D form Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, M.Tech from National Institute of Engineering, Mysore and B.E degree from Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology, Tumkur. He is having 12 years of Teaching and Industry experience. He has published / presented research papers in various National / International Journals of repute and notable Conferences. He has received grants from KSCST-IISc, Bangalore and VTU, Belagavi for the academic projects guided by him. He is an Associate Member – Institution of Engineers (AMIE) and Life member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE). His areas of interest are Metal Matrix Composites, Hybrid Composites and Advanced Metallic alloys

A faculty development programme was organized from 17th April, 2023 to 21st by the department of mechanical engineering .This was a one week Faculty Development Programme where various related subtopics were discussed in detail by eminent educationists and a very beneficial academic environment was experienced by the participants.
This event we are organized more than 10 events like Coding, Gaming, Photography, Group Discussion, Technical Talk, Eating competition and so on., there are more than twenty colleges students are participated , around 800 students are participated and won the prizes up to 1 Lakh. Chief Guests for this events are Dr. N. Chikkanna, Professor & Chairman , Department of Aerospace Propulsion Technology VTU, VIAT, Muddenahalli, Chikkaballapur, and Mr. Sarvana Rajan G, CEO, DHS Informatics Pvt. Ltd. Bangalore.
The Allied Science department organized a seminar on “The Illustrious life and achievements of Sir C V Raman” by Professor S P Basavaraj , Retired Professor Bangalore Institute of Technology on the occasion of National Science day on 3rd march 2023 at ECE Seminar hall.
An expert talk on Intellectual Property Right (IPR) and Innovations/Patents in Engineering development program was organized on 21st October 2022 by the Department of mechanical engineering. This was a one-day Programme where various related subtopics were discussed in detail by eminent educationist and a very beneficial academic environment was experienced by the participants.

The Allied Science department organized an “Awareness program on Women Health” by Dr. P Sushma Pujari, Assistant Professor in department of Panchakarma, Atreya Ayurvedic Medical College, Kodigehalli, Doddaballapur on the occasion of International Women’s day on 8th march 2023 at ECE Seminar hall.
On 25/05/2033, Thursday, we had organized a II phase induction program & inauguration of II –semester classes. The session started with inaugural function at 10:00AM in E&CE Seminar hall. The dignitaries were N. S. Babu Reddy Director-HRD & Placements, RLJ Group of Institutions, Dr. M Sreenivasa Reddy, Director (Quality & Research and Development), RLJIT, Doddaballapur, Dr. P VijayKarthik, Principal, RLJIT, Doddaballapur., Dr Thirumalesh, Head, Dept. of Allied Sciences, RLJIT Doddaballapur. All the head of the other department, first year staff and students were present.
I want to express my deepest gratitude and thanks to you all for the knowledge, guidance, love and support you have given me during my time studying Mechanical Engineering at RLJIT. The education and skills I gained have helped to lay the foundation to get GOLD MEDAL from VTU and for my current career as a revenue administrative officer in Government of Nepal.
