Code of Conduct for Hostel Students

Students are not allowed to
keep valuables, jewelry and any other articles, which are not approved by the
Hostel authorities.
- Parents/guardians are not
permitted to meet the boarders, without the permission of the Principal/Warden.
- Visitors are not permitted
to go into the rooms of the hostels without the written permission of the
Principal/warden.
- Ragging of any kind or
bullying or subject any other student to any kind of ill-treatment, either
physical or mental may lead to expulsion from the Hostel. As such, students are
advised not to indulge in any such activity. Students involved in any such acts
are liable to be expelled without warning, and there will be no reconsideration
whatsoever. There will be no refund of fee in such cases.
- The
change of status from
boarder to Day Scholar will not be entertained in the mid- session.
- Taps
in bathroom/toilets
must be closed, whenever they are not in use.
- Fans
and lights must be
switched off whenever the students leave their rooms. They must switch off all
the lights, when they go to bed. In case it is noticed that the fans/lights are
‘ON’ in their locked room, penalty will be imposed for wasting the precious
energy.
- The
students should strictly
observe the prescribed mess timings. Late food/breakfast will be served only in
exceptional cases, with prior consent of the concerned authority.
- Students are not allowed to
wear any kind of studs or rings on the eye brows, chin, ears, nose, low waist
trousers or skirts, bracelets, fancy pendants or amulets.
- Going out during the
weekdays is totally discouraged. However if there is any genuine reason, written
Permission from the Principal/Warden shall be obtained.
- If
during the course of a
session a student needs to go home, he/she must obtain written permission from
the Principal/Warden in the form of a Leave Request.
- All
the students must report
on the given date after the vacation/leave etc., In case of any emergency,
written request giving detailed reasons, should be provided by the parents to
the Principal/Warden, and a written permission must be obtained to condone the
delay in arrival.
- Parents can contact the
Hostel warden/Principal on Phone in case of emergency only.
- Overstay on
leave/vacation/holidays is not permitted and is liable to fine. This is
essential to inculcate the habit of punctuality among the students living in the
Hostel.
- Any
boarder falling sick,
will report to the Warden, who will record the action taken, in the sick
register and as directed by the Campus Doctor.
- When
the student returns
from home after long illness, he/she must bring a fitness certificate from the
doctor, who has treated him/her.
- No
students living in the
hostel are allowed to invite day scholar colleagues to the hostel premises for
their personal interaction or for any other reasons.
- Any
student causing damage
or loss of college/hostel property will be required to pay for the loss. In case
more than one student is involved in causing the loss or damage, the cost of
loss/damage/repair etc. will be equally shared among all the students concerned.
If the loss or damage occurs in the hostel room, class room or anywhere else and
if the students present there as the bystanders do not reveal the names of the
persons causing the loss or damage, the cost of property, damage/loss will be
equally shared among all the students involved or present there.
- The
Boarders being Majors in
age evading the security, warden or any other authority of the campus and leave
the premises by any means- jumping over the compound or breaching the security
of the premises, the warden/college authority shall not take responsibility for
this misconduct and cannot be held responsible.
- The
college/hostel authority
shall not be held responsible in case of accident or suicide or illness to
him/her in the college/Hostel premises. However, the college authorities will
take all necessary steps to avoid such happenings.

- 1. Students will be responsible for the safe
keeping of their own
property. In the event of loss of the personal property of a student due
to theft, fire or any other cause, the college/hostel shall accept no
responsibility and shall not be liable for payment of any compensation.
- 2. Unauthorized shifting of furniture’s from
their respective rooms is
strictly prohibited.
- 3. Laptops/ computers (without printers) for the
purpose of Technical
Education are allowed in the Hostel rooms. Viewing porn materials are
strictly prohibited.
- 4. Use of electrical appliances like
refrigerators & TV are strictly
prohibited in the Hostel rooms.
- 5. Carrying/possessing harmful weapons in the
Hostel premises or in the
campus is prohibited.
- 6. Assembly/meetings/partying in Hostel rooms are
prohibited.
- 7. Cooking in the Hostel rooms is strictly
prohibited.
- 8. Entry to the Hostel is not permitted beyond
specified time as
notified by the Hostel Authority.
- 9. Acquaintances/Relatives/Friends etc will not
be permitted to visit
individual rooms or stay in a student hostel. However a short duration
visit to the common room/office room may be permitted by the warden on
request.
- Smoking/possession/distribution/consumption
of alcohol, drugs and all other intoxicants in the Hostel or in the campus are
strictly prohibited. An occurrence of such act shall invite strict disciplinary
action leading to rustication from the Hostel and as well from the college.
- Improper behavior with
fellow students, hostel staff and warden will be treated as an act of
indiscipline.
- Indiscriminate fixing of
pictures or writing of graffiti on the walls/doors is considered as an act of
indiscipline and individual(s) responsible for such an act will be held
responsible for the damage caused.
- Students shall not indulge
in any political or communal activity which is detrimental to the law and order
and/or against the Government.
- Students shall not carry on
any propaganda or publicity of any nature whatsoever in respect of anything or
any matter including political or communal matters.
- A
minimum of one months’
notice is necessary in case a student wishes to vacate the hostel during
academic semester. Student shall receive the deposit amount at the time of
vacating the room.
- The
students should be
decently dressed when they are out of their rooms. For girls, tight body hugging
clothes, short tops etc. are forbidden outside the room. The decision, as to
what constitutes a decent dress remains vested with the Hostel authority.
In case of any other misconduct, misbehavior, omission, commission,
violation of expectations of student behavior, not covered in the above, the Hostel
authority reserves the right to take action in the interest of the student’s welfare
and education. The decision of the Principal in all such cases will be final and
binding on all the concerned.
The Legal jurisdiction for all types of suits shall be Doddaballapur only.
