The Allied Sciences Department comprising of departments like physics, chemistry & Mathematics, started in 2001. The department has well-equipped physics and chemistry labs with all new modern equipment & state of the art facilities. The department has experienced and committed staff members who not only teach academics but also help the students in their curricular and Co-curricular activities.
The Department has a forum in name of “RLJIT Science Forum” which is a stage for the students to present their skills and also to get interact with the latest trends in the field of Science & Technology.
Dr. Thirumalesh, has obtained his Bachelors (BSc) and Master’s degree (MSc, Physics) from Bangalore University and Ph.D from Manglore University. Dr. Thirumalesh started his teaching career in the year 2001, as Lecturer in Physics at RLJIT and is currently working as Associate Professor and Head, Allied Sciences. He has about 20 years of Teaching and 10 years of Research experience.

Department of Allied Sciences, R L Jalappa Institute of Technology, organized a certificate program on “Effective Communication Skills in English” from 11th August to 14th August 2023 for the first year BE students. Prof. Madhu Kumar, Assistant Professor in English of Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, Vidyanagar, Bangalore and Dr. P. Vijayakarthik, Principal RLJIT were the resource persons for the program
The purpose of the induction programme is to habituate newly enrolled students, encourage them to explore their academic interests and extracurricular activities, lessen competition and encourage them to strive for excellence, foster a sense of community among them, establish relationships between teachers and students, provide a wider perspective on life, and develop their character. The participants, received optimum benefit from the programme. It is evident from the feedback garnered around about the Induction program that with the cooperation of Management, Students and with the coordination of Heads and teaching and nonteaching faculties of RLJIT the Induction program has witnessed a grand success.
The Allied Science department organized a seminar on “The Illustrious life and achievements of Sir C V Raman” by Professor S P Basavaraj , Retired Professor Bangalore Institute of Technology on the occasion of National Science day on 3rd march 2023 at ECE Seminar hall.
The Allied Science department organized an “Awareness program on Women Health” by Dr. P Sushma Pujari, Assistant Professor in department of Panchakarma, Atreya Ayurvedic Medical College, Kodigehalli, Doddaballapur on the occasion of International Women’s day on 8th march 2023 at ECE Seminar hall.
