On 24th January 2025, the Allied Science Department organized an awareness program on the VTU examination for first-year students. The session aimed to educate students on the exam pattern, evaluation process, and preparation strategies. Higher semester students delivered presentations, sharing their experiences and effective study techniques. They explained the question paper format, marking scheme, time management, and tips to handle exam pressure. The session also covered internal assessments, lab exams, and university regulations, helping students gain clarity. A Q&A segment allowed first-year students to clear doubts, guided by seniors and faculty members. The event created a collaborative learning environment, where juniors benefited from senior insights. The session concluded with a vote of thanks, appreciating the efforts of organizers and student speakers.
As per our Principal’s guidance, we represented our institution at the "Students' Carnival" organized by BIS Bengaluru on 3rd January 2025 at BMSIT, Yelahanka, celebrating the 78th Foundation Day of BIS. We left campus at 9:30 AM by college bus and reached BMSIT by 10:20 AM. After registration, we were allotted a stall to showcase our banners, posters, and projects. Various competitions and activities were held, including Best Stall Presentation, Kite Presentation, One-Minute Talk on BIS, and cultural performances, followed by lunch. Sharing our stall with our polytechnic college, we proudly won the "Best Stall Award." Our students participated enthusiastically, with some narrowly missing awards. The event was a valuable and memorable experience.
The Allied Science Department celebrated National Mathematics Day on 23rd December 2024 with a poster-making competition for first-year students in the CSE Seminar Hall. The event aimed to raise awareness and appreciation for the contributions of Indian mathematicians to various fields of mathematics. Mrs. Shilpa S, Assistant Professor in the Department of Allied Sciences, delivered a presentation on the contributions of Indian mathematicians. Additionally, Harshitha N, a first-semester CSE student, presented the life and achievements of Srinivasa Ramanujan. The poster-making competition focused on the lives and accomplishments of renowned Indian mathematicians, providing students an opportunity to showcase their creativity and knowledge. The event emphasized the role of mathematics in modern technology, science, and engineering, inspiring students to recognize its significance.
On 6th January 2025, the Allied Science Department organized a Student Development Programme (SDP) on “Determining Microscopic Order of Solids Using X-rays and Neutrons” for first-year students. The SDP aimed to enhance students' academic and professional growth by providing insights beyond the traditional curriculum. The session was led by Dr. Naveen Kumar C M from the Institute of Nuclear Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences, Poland, who served as the key speaker. He provided valuable knowledge on the use of X-rays and neutrons in analyzing the microscopic structure of solids. The event was coordinated by Mrs. Sujatha V as the convener and Ms. Anusha K as the co-convener, both Assistant Professors in the Department of Allied Sciences. The programme successfully enriched students' understanding of advanced scientific techniques and their real-world applications.
The Training and Placement Cell, in collaboration with the Allied Science Department, organized the "LinkedIn Career Kick Start Program" for first-year students on 8th November 2024 at the ECE Seminar Hall. Mr. Nithish Sivaraj from FACEPREP delivered an insightful session on leveraging LinkedIn for career growth. Over 300 students benefited, activating LinkedIn Premium and gaining insights into LinkedIn Learning, job search tools, profile optimization, networking, and career coaching. The session empowered students to enhance their professional presence and career prospects effectively.
